Sailfish SCOOP - Sunday, July 9, 2023

    HELLO SAILFISH!!!

Is everyone enjoying your Sunday? We hope so.

We’re sending two emails today. The first is this SCOOP full of some very timely reminders and a bit of new information. The second will be all the information you’ll need for Prelims this week. Look for this second email to arrive in about an hour.

    On to today’s SCOOP…

    PIRATE’S COVE - TONIGHT - 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm!!!

Who doesn’t love a lazy river full of your favorite Sailfish families? Please join us at Pirate’s Cove tonight, July 9, from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm. ALL Sailfish Swimmers and their immediate family members are welcome. Pirate’s Cove may have some limited concessions available, but our advice is to bring your own drinks and snacks. **No glass containers permitted.** Looks like we will have beautiful weather, too, so plan to be there!

Are you ready for a SAILFISH INVASION?

End of Season Sailfish Banquet | Saturday, July 15, 2023, 5:30 pm - 10:00 pm.

To close our season, we are planning to ROCK THE NIGHT AWAY at our annual end-of-season banquet. We'll be offering a buffet dinner catered by Cafe Rio, and gourmet dipped gelato pops for dessert. We’ll also have the chance to GET OUR GROOVE ON. Purchase your tickets by Sunday, July 9. (Go to our website and login. Click on “Online Store.”)

If you have food allergy concerns, please contact Colleen Kaufman with any questions you have.

    Meal Tickets: $20 Adults & Children (Ages 13+) $15 Children (Ages 3-12).

🤘 This is going to be one rockin’ evening you won’t want to miss. 🤘

*Note to veteran Sailfish families: In the past, we sold banquet tickets at registration. We didn’t do that this year. So, if you haven’t purchased your banquet tickets in the last two weeks, you don’t have tickets to the banquet. Go get them on our website!

    WE’RE LOOKING FOR SOME PHOTOS

Once again, Scott Fetter has agreed to put together a slide show of photos from the season to show at our banquet. If you have some photos you have taken at meets, practices, and other swim team events, Scott would love to include them in the slide show. Please take a minute TODAY to  TEXT any photos you have to Scott at 720.470.3646. Thanks!

    🎁 COACHES’ GIFTS 🎁

At the end of each season, we collect cash gifts for our coaches. We’ll distribute them at our end-of-season banquet. If you would like to contribute, you can contribute on our website. (Go to the website, log in, and choose “Online Store.” You will see the Coaches’ Gifts available there. Please note that you can select more than one denomination and more than one of any listed denomination to add up to the total amount you want to contribute.) These gifts, though totally optional, are greatly appreciated by our hard-working coaches and volunteer coaches.

    SUPER SWIMMER RECOGNITION

Don't forget to let us know about any Super Swimmers! We have already had some swimmers nominated, and we know there are more out there!

Here are the Super Swimmer details again.

We want to be able to recognize when a swimmer does something that made them a "Super Swimmer." It is a way to recognize individual goals and accomplishments of a swimmer, and we understand that we have a wide range of swimmer skills and swimmer goals. This is something the swimmer is working on or means something to the swimmer. This is for mudskippers too!!!

Some examples of being a "Super Swimmer"

    1. Beating a time
    2. Overcoming a fear and racing in a race
    3. Swimming in an event they have never done before or swimming a stroke they have never done before
    4. Doing a relay for the first time
    5. Swimming without a coach in the water
    6. Swimming a race without DQing
    7. Being brave when heating
    8. Getting in the water or putting face in the water
    9. Breaking a record
    10. Any type of challenge or goal that the swimmer is working on.

When your swimmer has an accomplishment that they want recognized, please email Natalie Messersmith about the accomplishment and other pertinent information. Please submit by Sunday of each week, and the swimmer will receive something small in their folders (that hold the ribbons) later in the week.

    PICKUP YOUR PHOTOS

If you were’t at yesterday’s meet or didn’t pickup your team and individual photos, pleas pick them up at your earliest convenience. The photos have been placed in our ribbon box, located on the desk in the main office of the pool.

Watch out for our Prelim meet information coming your way in about an hour.  See you at Pirate’s Cove TONIGHT!

Life is better when you are swimming!
