Welcome to the first Sailfish SCOOP of the season. For those of you who are new (and some of you who don’t remember), I’ll be coming at you every Tuesday and Friday for the duration of the season sharing all the swim team news that you need to know — and the occasional bad joke along the way.

FIRST EVER SAILFISH PARENT PARTY - THIS FRIDAY

Friday, May 17, 2024, Arrive between 6:30-7:00 pm, Trivia starts at 7:30pm.

We’re having a PARTY!!! Grown-ups only! Lots of good food and drinks, and a game of trivia! And, most importantly, a chance to build community and have some fun!!! If you haven’t RSVP’d, you are in luck. Fill out this form by 8:00 am tomorrow, Wednesday, May 15 to let us know you’re coming. (The RSVP is important so we can put you on a trivia team.) And, if you already RSVP’d but cannot come, please email Amy to let her know.

CANDY DONATIONS - JUST-FOR-FUN MEET

At this year's Just-For-Fun Swim Meet (Thursday, May 30, 5:30 pm), we are setting up a fill-your-own-bag candy buffet for the kids. Each swimmer receives a small bag, which they can fill with their candy choices. Would you help us by donating a bag or two of candy? We would like to have at least 300 of each variety, which would provide 2-3 per swimmer of each kind. Any extra will help stock the team tent/table at meets. Sign up here.

CALLING ALL BIG KIDS

RISING 7th GRADERS & OLDER, SIGN UP NOW!

The Big Kids program is back this year and better than ever! We have a ton of fun events planned, and new ways to communicate events so you and your Big Kid can stay in the loop. If you have a Sailfish swimmer that is a rising 7th grader or older, please take the following steps: 

1. Check out our new Big Kids page! This will be updated as we add events throughout the year. 
2.  Fill out this Google form! This will ensure that both you and your Big Kids have a finger on the pulse of all things Big Kids this year.  
3. Talk up the Big Kids program with your kids. We know they'll have a great time hanging with their friends outside the pool and we want to get them excited about it! 
4. Not sure? Encourage your Big Kid to attend the first event. It's super chill and low commitment - stop by for a donut on the Friday of the first morning practice, 5/31.

BAGS OF FUN SWIM-A-THON

On Thursday, June 20th we will host the Sundance Hills Swim-A-Thon as usual during regularly scheduled practice times. At 5pm we invite swimmers and families, current and past, as well as the Sundance Hills Community at Large to join us for an evening of joy, laughter and REUNION to come together to remember all of the amazing reasons that this community is the place that Gabby spent her summers. We will be inviting as many former swimmers and coaches as we can find to return to the pool, dust off their caps and goggles, and spend an evening of food, fun, and friendly competition. We will celebrate the swimmers who raised the most, swam the furthest, cheered the loudest, and give current swimmers a chance to make all of us feel really, really old. Please register here and let us know how many people in your family will be joining us!
