Sailfish SCOOP - 06.04.2024
HELLO SAILFISH FAMILY -
Coming at you this beautiful Tuesday evening. Happy National Cheese Day to all those who celebrate! (I thought it’d be Gouda of me to share a celebration then tell you another dad joke. I don’t want to grate on your nerves with too many bad jokes.)
Off to the SCOOP for this evening -
DECLARE YOUR SWIMMERS
A reminder to all that you need to declare your swimmers for this Saturday’s meet by 5:00 pm tomorrow, Wednesday, June 5. Forget how? LOOK HERE.
EVENING PRACTICE SIGN-UP - JUNE 10 & 12
Here is the SIGN UP for evening practices on June 10 and 12, 5:30-6:30 pm.
You must sign up in advance if you wish to attend these practices because we only have space for 18 swimmers. If you practice in the morning, you do not need to attend evening practices. Mudskippers may not attend evening practices.
We will use 3 lanes for this practice and the Sundance Pool will remain open for families and other swimmers. Come watch your kid practices and then dinner at the pool when you’re finished.
SUNSHINE TSUNAMI
The benefits of the color yellow include me auditable increases in optimism, hope, and joy. Let’s bring all that to our team at the tri-meet on Saturday by showing up in our yellow shirts! If you didn’t order a shirt, never fear because Bailey Foley has you covered. She will have them available at the Thursday and Friday early practice times, or you can EMAIL BAILEY to reserve your shirt. Shirts are $20 for adults and $10 for kids, payable to Venmo (@SH_Sailfish)!
A NOTE ON TIMESTAMPS IN SWIMTOPIA
Swimtopia predicts the time that it thinks races will occur, as indicated by the timestamp that appears next to events on the app. These timestamps are just estimates and are not necessarily the time that a race will actually occur. Parents and swimmer: PLEASE TRACK WHEN EVENTS ARE HEATING using the numbers that are posted by the heating area at each race. The higher number is the race that’s currently occurring; the lower number is the race that’s heating. If you need to leave the meet for some reason and plan to return to swim, please ask someone staying at the meet to keep you informed about meet progress. This will help make sure you return in plenty of time for their races.
BAGS OF FUN SWIM-A-THON
On Thursday, June 20th we will host the Sundance Hills Swim-A-Thon as usual during regularly scheduled practice times. At 5pm we invite swimmers and families, current and past, as well as the Sundance Hills Community at Large to join us for an evening of joy, laughter and REUNION to come together to remember all of the amazing reasons that this community is the place that Gabby spent her summers. We will be inviting as many former swimmers and coaches as we can find to return to the pool, dust off their caps and goggles, and spend an evening of food, fun, and friendly competition. We will celebrate the swimmers who raised the most, swam the furthest, cheered the loudest, and give current swimmers a chance to make all of us feel really, really old. Please REGISTER HERE and let us know how many people in your family will be joining us! (Really - Click the link and register. Do it now! It’s going to be a FANTASTIC and FUN time!)
SWIMMING UNDER THE STARS - PLEASE RSVP
Save-the-date for Wednesday, June 26 from 5:30-9:00 PM because we're gearing up for some MAJOR fun. Our annual Swimming Under the Stars is almost here! Enjoy a Team Potluck and (back by popular demand) Cookie Bake-Off followed by some well-deserved splash-about fun for swimmers and their coaches. Good food, friendly competition, team building, prizes and, of course, the best summer memories Sundance has to offer. Need we say more? RSVP TODAY!
Okay - that’s the SCOOP for tonight. Enjoy all the cheese and remember…
LIFE IS BETTER AT THE POOL!
