Sailfish SCOOP - 06.29.2024
AHOY, SAILFISH FAMILY!!!
(It’s still Pirate’s Cove week and I’m not giving up until it’s over…)
Congratulations to all for a great meet at Stonegate this morning! Although the Stingrays outscored us, our team showed a great example of how to compete with heart and honor. And, we did that while maintaining friendly competition and putting in some great swims! Well done, Sailfish!
We’ve got some new items in today’s SCOOP, splice the mainbrace (that’s Pirate talk for grab a refreshing drink) and read up on what we’ve got going on during the final two weeks of our season!
PIRATE’S COVE - TOMORROW!!!
Who doesn’t love a lazy river full of your favorite Sailfish families? Please join us at Pirate’s Cove tomorrow, Sunday, June 30, from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm. ALL Sailfish Swimmers and their immediate family members are welcome. (This includes parents and siblings who are not yet or no longer Sailfish. This event is not open to friends of swimmers.) Pirate’s Cove will not have concessions available, so our advice is to bring your own drinks and snacks, or dinner if you want. (In other words, this party is “BYOG,” as in “bring your own grog.” 😉 ) **No glass containers permitted.**
The cost for this event is included in your swim team registration. Looks like we will have warm weather, too, so plan to be there!
**Talking like a pirate at Pirate’s Cove is not required but is highly encouraged.**
PRELIMS ARE JUST AROUND THE CORNER
Shiver me timbers!!!! It's time to declare your swimmers for Prelims. As a reminder, you have to have swam in two regular season meets (Just for Fun meet does not count) in order to swim in prelims. Registration closes on July 2nd at 4:00 pm. Visit our Meets and Events tab to learn when age group Prelims are and keep an eye out for a detailed Prelim/Finals email this weekend.
EVENING PRACTICE SIGN-UP - JULY 1
Here is the SIGN UP for evening practice next Monday, July 1. (No evening practice next Wednesday, July 3 because of an HOA event at the pool that evening.)
You must sign up in advance if you wish to attend these practices because we only have space for 18 swimmers. If you practice in the morning, you do not need to attend evening practices. Mudskippers may not attend evening practices.
We will use 3 lanes for this practice and the Sundance Pool will remain open for families and other swimmers. Come watch your kid practices and then dinner at the pool when you’re finished.
SUPER SWIMMERS
At our meet today, we had lots of milestones - first-time racers, swimmers swimming new strokes, improved times, and more! Congratulations to all who had a new accomplishment this week!
Please EMAIL NATALIE with the name of your Super Swimmer and they will receive something special in the ribbon box this week. We wholeheartedly encourage parents to make these submissions. You know your swimmer the best and what they have worked so hard to achieve.

Our menu is allergen-friendly. We'll have GF and vegan options as well. If you have additional food allergy concerns, please contact Colleen Kaufman with any questions.
A note on attire...many guests, including our coaches, enjoy dressing up in "Resort Casual" for this party. Swimming is optional for this event but most of the kids will want to swim at some point (and some parents, too), so bring or wear your swimsuit if you’d like. Lifeguards will be present and the Baby Pool will be open!
Meal Tickets: $20 Adults & Children (Ages 13+) $15 Children (Ages 3-12).
END-OF SEASON COACHES GIFTS
At the end of each season, we collect cash gifts for our coaches. We’ll distribute them at our end-of-season banquet. If you would like to contribute, you can contribute on our website. (Go to the website, log in, and choose “Online Store.” You will see the Coaches’ Gifts available there. Please note that you can select more than one denomination and more than one of any listed denomination to add up to the total amount you want to contribute.) These gifts, though totally optional, are greatly appreciated by our hard-working coaches and volunteer coaches.

Or text Imagetek at +1 (303) 955-0375.
REWARD FOR LOST ITEM
One of our swimmers, Jonathan Langley, has lost Pokemon cards. They were in a notebook and the notebook has his name in it. If you find it, please EMAIL Jonathan’s mom, Rachel. She is offering a $50 reward for return of the cards, no questions asked.
That’s the SCOOP for this afternoon, Sailfish. One last pirate joke for the road:
Q: How do pirates know they are pirates?
A: They think, therefore they ARRRRRRRR……
LIFE IS BETTER WHEN YOU ARE SWIMMING!!!
