Sailfish SCOOP - 07.14.2024

    HELLO SAILFISH FAMILY!!!!

Happy end-of-the-season to all of you!

We’ve much to be proud of, including showing amazing team spirit; continuing the traditions of our amazing community and establishing a few new traditions along the way; and spending memorable times with friends old and new. And of course, we did it all while swimming! Our talented and hard-working swimmers proved again that Sailfish are indeed the fastest fish in the water. (I learned that on Wikipedia. Look it up for yourself…) Our team took home SECOND PLACE overall at finals! (We were beat only by a team twice our size.) We had too many amazing individual swims to mention here, though I expect that Coach Henry will be sending along a wrap-up as soon as he recovers from all the activities (and heat!) of the last week.

I’ve got a few odds and ends to share with you, so let’s get to it. Here’s the last SCOOP of the 2024 Sundance Sailfish season:

    TEAM PHOTOS ARE HERE

Stop by the ribbon box at the front desk of the pool and pick your up, if you haven’t already done so. (All swimmers receive a team photo and an individual photo, paid for as part of your registration. You’ll also have the opportunity to order extras if you wish.)

    ONLINE TEAM PHOTOS

By now you should have received an email containing a link to your swimmer’s private picture galleries from Imagetek Photo. If you didn’t receive this email, please check your emails and junk folders. If you didn’t receive a link (or accidentally sent your link to email purgatory), please contact Imagetek directly with questions or general inquiries:

If you would like to buy the image files of your photos or purchase printed copies, Imagetek is offering an Early Order Discount. Photos galleries only remain active for a limited time, so please do this sooner rather than later.

    RIBBON BOX

It’s at the front desk of the pool. Please check to see if your swimmers have any ribbons in the box from our meets, and take them with you if they do!

    KEEP SUPPORTING BAGS OF FUN

Bags of Fun hosts an annual fund raiser, Bring Out the Bags, each year. This event is a spectacular event for the entire family and will be held in Denver on October 5. Several Sailfish families who have attended in the past have said the event is truly a great evening!!! Bags of Fun has early-bird pricing and family packages available, so GO CHECK IT OUT. Have a little fun and raise some money for a very worthy cause!

A NOTE FROM OUR ESTEEMED PARENT REPS, AMY & BRENNA:

Last night we missed thanking one VERY IMPORTANT board member. She did so much behind the scenes for our team this season we just couldn't believe we missed recognizing her, and didn’t want to go without saying something in our final SCOOP. Thank you Bailey Foley (Merchandise) who endured a tremendous amount of work to change our colors on every logo and every item we sold. Turns out there are a million types of yellow and even "lemon yellow" looks different on different items. She managed shipping issues, color issues, and much more with tremendous professionalism. She is the mastermind behind our t-shirt design and I think we can all agree - we have the coolest shirts on the deck. She also personally made the Barbie/Ken coach shirts and Finals tank tops for our coaches.

Bailey, the names on our swimcaps, duck gifts at the banquet, and lemon yellow will be your Sailfish legacy! Thank you for the many hours you put into merch this season, sharing your creativity with us, and always saying "yes" to helping out! The Sailfish are so lucky to have you.

ONE FINAL THANK YOU FROM ME

In closing up this season, I want to offer my personal thanks to our beyond-brilliant, hard-working, generous, and always kind Parent Reprepresentatives, Amy Fetter and Brenna Kleinsteuber. Having done this job for two years, I know from personal experience that there’s much that goes into it, including commitment of much personal time. Amy and Brenna have gone above and beyond to ensure that our team provides an exceptional and memorable experience for our kids and community — all done on a volunteer basis. (This was also Amy’s third year in the role!!!) If you see them around, please join me in offering them our collective thanks for all that they did for our team this year.

Amy and Brenna - Please put your feet up for a bit, enjoy a cool drink, and rest up! Job well done!!!

Okay Sailfish - That’s the final SCOOP for this season. If that makes you sad, just think of this — Snow is only a few short months away and ski season is about five months away. Which reminds me….

Q: What do skiers like to eat for lunch?

    A: Iceburgers.

    (haha)

LIFE IS BETTER WHEN YOU ARE SWIMMING!!!!
