Sailfish SCOOP - May 07, 2025

    HELLO SAILFISH FAMILY!!!

I hope that everyone is having a GREAT week!

CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT PRACTICES START IN FIVE DAYS!!!!

    WAHOO!!!

Here’s the SCOOP on all the information you need to prepare for a GREAT season!

MI SPORTS ORDERS ARE DUE (TEAM SUITS)

The order deadline for MI Sports to get all products in by the Just for Fun Meet is MAY 10th! This includes team suits, sweatshirts, and any other branded items ordered through MI SPORTS (click the link to go to their Sailfish page). Once you place an order with MI Sports, ALL questions need to be directed to them. Any order questions go to [email protected]. They're super responsive and very helpful, so find a time to head to MI Sports to get sized for a suit if you need a new one or if you've never tried on these suits before. All suits are final sale, so you definitely want to make sure you're ordering the one that fits best!

RSVP FOR THE SAILFISH PARENT PARTY - MAY 16

Our 2nd annual Parent Party is Friday May 16 at 7:30pm! RSVP using this LINK.

What: This is a social event AND a fundraising event! Get ready to bid on a silent auction item or two, but mainly to enjoy the company of other Sailfish Swim Team parents! There will be a trivia company providing our formal entertainment, two VERY (🤣) inexperienced volunteer bartenders under a tiki bar, and plentiful yummy desserts to snack on.

Why: We Sailfish Swim Team adults LOVE the chance to par-tay. And this is a great opportunity for mixing and mingling with some of our newest and oldest families alike!

    (BE THERE OR BE SQUARE!)

AFTERNOON PRACTICES START THE WEEK OF MAY 12

That’s next week. These practices are for all competitive swimmers. (Mudskippers, your practices start after Memorial Day.) You can find the practice schedule HERE. Wear your swimsuits; bring your goggles and a smile; and be ready to kick off an AMAZING season!!!

A SPECIAL MESSAGE AND INVITATION FROM THE PAULSEN FAMILY

Quinn (14) and Simone (12) Paulsen have been swimmers on the Sailfish team for the past five years, and in late 2023 the family received life-changing news when Quinn was diagnosed with CMT4C. CMT is the leading inherited neuropathy, affecting ~3M people worldwide (5x more than ALS). Since the diagnosis, the Paulsens have been working with scientists to drive a known gene therapy cure via 'Project Foresee,' and they are on the last steps to bring that cure to the first 8 patients, including Quinn!

Their second annual Foresee Gala will be held at the Denver Performing Arts complex on May 30th. They would love to have members of the Sailfish community join! Find all the info HERE.

YOGA SIX FUNDRAISER - NEW DATE

Our fundraiser at YogaSix has been rescheduled for Sunday June 8! One day after our first home meet, I think we found the perfect time for some time on our mats! Join us for a private vinyasa power flow class followed by mixing and mingling while we all enjoy snacks (wine, sweet treats and maybe something healthy?!) and a few fun prizes (including FREE YOGA!)

June 8, 2-3:30pm at YogaSix,4832 S Newport Street (Belleview Station Location)

Be sure to bring a mat, water & towel. Suggested donation is $25 per person and the entire donation goes right to our team!

That’s all for tonight, Sailfish. Have a fin-tastic rest of the week!

(I can’t swim-phasize enough how excited I am to get this season started!!!)
