Sailfish SCOOP - Wednesday, May 13, 2025
HELLO SAILFISH FAMILY!!!!
Well, our first rained-out practice of the season is behind us. At least it wasn’t a snow out… That’s spring in Colorado for you.
We’ve got lots of good info to share tonight, Here’s your SCOOP!!!
SAILFISH PARENT PARTY IS THIS FRIDAY, MAY 16
Our 2nd annual Parent Party is Friday May 16 at 7:30pm! RSVP using this LINK.
What: This is a social event AND a fundraising event! Get ready to bid on a silent auction item or two, but mainly to enjoy the company of other Sailfish Swim Team parents! There will be a trivia company providing our formal entertainment, two VERY (🤣) inexperienced volunteer bartenders under a tiki bar, and plentiful yummy desserts to snack on.
Why: We Sailfish Swim Team adults LOVE the chance to par-tay. And this is a great opportunity for mixing and mingling with some of our newest and oldest families alike.
(Your editor hears that this party will be a GREAT time. Be there or be square!)

OUR BIG FISH/LITTLE FISH PROGRAM IS BACK!!!
It’s back… and better than ever! We’re thrilled to continue the Big Fish/Little Fish program this swim season! This fun and optional buddy program is open to all competing swimmers—from our 6 & under group to our seasoned swimmers—and it’s an awesome way to build friendships, pump up team spirit, and cheer each other on across age groups!
Here are the highlights: both Big Fish and Little Fish are encouraged to cheer each other on at practices and meets. But Big Fish, it’s your time to shine! You’ll be a mentor, a cheerleader, and a role model—showing what it means to be a great teammate. If you're not sure you can commit to that role, no worries—just sit this one out!
A quick note to parents: We’re keeping it simple and sweet this year—no gifts, please! This program is all about building connections, having fun, and showing support, not spending money. Let’s keep the focus on encouragement and team spirit!
How to Participate:
- Fill out THIS FORM by May 23rd for each swimmer who wants to participate!
- Keep an eye on your inbox—we’ll send Big Fish/Little Fish matches by May 27th.
- Once you’re matched, watch the newsletter for fun (and totally free!) weekly ideas and mini-challenges to make the most of the experience!
BIG FISH: Must be 10 or older and ready to cheer, lead, and inspire
LITTLE FISH: Ages 6 & under – 9 years —just let us know if they’d like to join the fun
PARENTS: Help your swimmer stay engaged and tuned in to those weekly updates!
We can’t wait to make memories together this summer!
After you sign up, you will be assigned a Big/Little Fish who is counting on you! If for any reason you are no longer able to participate, please email Carolyn Thompson ([email protected]) or send her a text at 303-916-1963.
