Sailfish SCOOP - May 28, 2025

    HELLO SAILFISH FAMILY!!!

Congrats to all who swam in tonight’s Just-For-Fun Meet. Thankfully, the skies parted for long enough for our swimmers to kick off their season in style!

We’ve got a few things to cover in tonight’s SCOOP, so let’s get this show on the road…

    MEET AT HOMESTEAD THIS SATURDAY

We’ve got a meet coming up on Saturday at Homestead. (Address, etc. is on our website!) If this is your first-ever swim meet (or if you just forgot since last summer)— You will receive an email on Friday that will give you all the details you need about warm-up times, etc. (Since this is an away meet, the timing of this email depends on when we receive confirmation that the home team is done loading the heat sheets for the meet). Please be on the lookout for it!

You should also be sure to have loaded the Swimtopia app onto your phone. (Use the same username and password that you use for our website, and you will be “hooked” to our team.) This app is your best way to keep track of things at meets. You will want it with you on Saturday, for sure.

For those of you who like to plan ahead, please anticipate arriving at Homestead @ 7:00-7:15. Warm-ups for away meets are typically at 7:30-ish, depending on what time the home team gives us. And the first race starts at 8:00 am sharp. We will send you all the specific times on Friday, after we received them. Meets typically last until @ 12:30 pm, but do sometimes go as late as 1:30 or 2:00, depending on the number of swimmers and the efficiency of the starters, timers, and officials.

    SPIRIT TABLE THIS FRIDAY

Please encourage your swimmers to swing by the Sailfish Spirit Table this Friday—before, during, or after practice—to dive into some team fun! While we won’t have a spirit table at Saturday meets this season, we will be bringing the spirit to every Friday practice!

Your swimmer will find everything they need to get crafty—markers, paper, stickers, and more—to make a sign or card to cheer on a teammate. Whether it’s their Big Fish, Little Fish, or just someone who could use a boost, it’s all about spreading the love and building that Sailfish spirit!

Pro tip for parents: Once your swimmer finishes their masterpiece, leave it in the car so it’s ready to go for Saturday’s meet!

Not into carrying around a sign? No problem! They can still stop by and make a card to hand off to a teammate before the big competition.

Let’s keep the positivity flowing—one sign, card, and cheer at a time!

    BIG FISH/LITTLE FISH CHALLENGE

We hope your swimmer had a chance to meet their Big Fish or Little Fish this week—either at practice or during the Just for Fun meet! Bonus points if you've already snapped a photo together (and if not, it's not too late-- [email protected])!

Next up: your mission is to add your swimmer’s Big Fish/Little Fish to your SwimTopia app so you can keep track of their events and be ready to cheer them on when they hit the water!

Let’s keep the connections strong and the encouragement flowing!
