Sailfish SCOOP - Sunday, June 15, 2025

    HELLO SAILFISH FAMILY!!!

Happy Fathers’ Day to all those who celebrate!

    Happy Sunday to all!

Congrats to our swimmers for some AMAZING swims yesterday, and to all our community members for being such great hosts to the Barracudas and Tarpons!

We’ve got a really big week ahead - so let’s get to this SCOOP!!!

    PICTURE DAY IS TOMORROW!

Swim Team Picture Day is TOMORROW, Monday, June 16th, from 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM.

We kindly ask that families sign up for a time either before or after their swimmer's practice. However, we understand that some families may need to schedule their photos at other times to accommodate summer camps.

If you have not yet signed up for your photo time, please do so HERE.

Please don't forget to bring your swimmer's team shirt for the photo.

A Note From Our Photographers: In order to increase efficiency, safety, and offer more creative options for parents, Imagetek has implemented some changes to picture day.

We are doing away with location risers. This will completely eliminate the need for a "whole team at once" setup. Kids can leave or get back to practice immediately after their individuals are taken- no more waiting around for the team shot. Everyone does need a picture done, so they end up in the team photo (no obligation to order). Coaches, this includes you as well.

We will create team pictures by using individual photos and green screen extraction technology. This approach gives us more time to pose for individual and buddy shots, reducing the risk of kids fainting or getting hurt on the risers. Additionally, everyone's eyes will be open in the team photo. By using a portable studio, we can ensure consistent lighting for all photos. All ordering will be done via proofing. You will be able to view your photos prior to ordering. This "green screen" process will also allow parents to choose from several unique backgrounds as they order their team and individual photos.

    DECLARE YOUR SWIMMERS -

    DEADLINE IS 4:00 PM TOMORROW

Okay Sailfish — This is a BIG ONE. Our meet this Saturday is against our league rivals, the Cherry Creek Vista Vikings.

(A riff on your editor’s favorite dad joke on Father’s Day: What do you call a Viking that’s lost both of its eyes? Read to the end of this newsletter to find out!!!)

🚨Please remember to declare your swimmers by 4 pm tomorrow, Monday, June 16 🚨

If you forget how to declare your swimmers, look HERE

EVENING PRACTICE & STROKE CLINIC SIGN UPS

(All times are 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm.)

    Two quick reminders:

    • Evening practices are intended for swimmers who are unable to attend morning practices. Two practices each week are required to swim in that week’s meet, generally speaking.
    • Stroke clinics are for all swimmers and focus on a specific stroke or skill. These are “extra” practices, but can also count as the “required” practices for the week, if needed. The cost for stroke clinics is $5, payable directly to the coach who leads the stroke clinic. Please be sure to pay the coach before the clinic starts!

SWIMMING UNDER THE STARS IS THIS WEDNESDAY

Can't wait to see you there! RSVP HERE!!

All swimmers and their families are invited to join the fun!

    SUPER SWIMMER NOMINATIONS

It’s time for your weekly reminder to nominate a Super Swimmer! Help us recognize any of our amazing swimmers—including our Mudskippers—who’ve reached a meaningful milestone this week, big or small. Whether it’s a personal best, a moment of resilience, or a great attitude, we want to celebrate it! Each nominee will receive a certificate and a fun treat in the ribbon box—so don’t miss the chance to give one of our amazing swimmers a well-deserved shoutout! Send Carolyn an EMAIL with the Super Swimmer’s name and a quick reason why you’re nominating them!

    SEVEN YEAR AWARD WINNERS

At our end-of-season banquet each year we recognize swimmers who have been on the team for 7 years. If this year is your child’s seventh year as a Sailfish, please let our Clerk of Course, Rachel Langley, know by Friday, June 27th. You can text Rachel at 303-854-8280.

Rachel will need the following information:

First and last name of swimmer; Swimmer birth year ;Parent first and last name. We count all 7 years of swimming (even Mudskippers) and also during those "funny" summers with COVID.

If you have any questions, please let Rachel know.

That’s all for this SCOOP!!! Have a great week ahead, Sailfish!

LIFE IS BETTER AT THE POOL!!!
