AHOY, SAILFISH FAMILY!!!

Coming at you early this Sunday — lots to get through, so I’m going weigh anchor and get this SCOOP going! (Sorry - you will have to endure a little more of my pirate talk! )

PIRATES COVE 🏴☠️ AND SNARFS 🥪 TONIGHT!!!

Here are all the details you need for this special evening:

• Pirate’s Cove is at 1225 W. Belleview Ave. in Littleton.
• We will have the entire facility just for our use from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
• Sundance Swimmers of all ages are invited to attend with their immediate family members ONLY. This is not a drop-off event.
• Admission cost is included in your Sailfish registration fee - no cost at the gate.
• Bring your own drinks and snacks. Pirates Cove concessions will not be open. Scupper those glass containers - not allowed!
• In the event of a weather cancellation, please watch your email. No email means we’re a go!

(Did I mention that you’ll be able to find me cruising the lazy river? See photo above 😉.) 

Be there, or you may have to walk the plank at practice on Monday morning!

🚫 Important Notes:

🚨 DECLARATIONS FOR PRELIMS / FINALS 🚨

It’s time to declare your swimmers for Prelims! If you are new to our team or have never had a swimmer participating in Prelims, please consider doing so. It’s a great experience and a tough challenge that often becomes THE highlight of the season for our swimmers.

Coach Lyndsay asks that you declare for Prelims by 4:00 pm tomorrow, June 30. This gives her time to put together relay teams ahead of the league deadline of Tuesday, July 1, at 3:59 pm SHARP. After this time, declarations are locked and the league will NOT allow late declarations—only scratches are allowed. 

If you are unsure about which events your swimmer should swim at Prelims, please talk to their coach or to Coach Lyndsay at practice tomorrow morning. Please indicate on the online declaration form if they are interested swimming in a relay. 

The dates for Prelims are as follows:

• Monday, July 7 - Ages 13 - 18 at Stonegate
• Tuesday, July 8 - Ages 8 & under at Homestead
• Wednesday, July 9 - Ages 9-10 at Heritage Greens
• Thursday, July 10 - Ages 11-12 at Homestead Farms II
• Friday, July 11 - Make-up day for any rainouts

The top 16 finishers for each event (plus two alternates, in case of scratches) move on to the Finals on Saturday, July 12 at Cherry Creek Vista. 

Weigh anchor and get declare your swimmers ASAP!!!

PRACTICE SCHEDULE CHANGES

Because of Independence Day this coming Friday and Prelim meets next week, we have some changes to our practice schedule for the last two weeks of the season, Please take note:

Week of June 30:

• Regular morning practice schedule on Monday, June 30 through Thursday, July 3.
• Evening practices from 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm on Monday, June 30 and Wednesday, July 2. (Click through links to the signup forms.)
• Stroke clinic from 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm on Tuesday, July 1 (starts).
• No stroke clinic on Thursday, July 3.
• No practice on Friday, July 4.
• No meet on Saturday, July 5. 

Week of July 7:

• Monday, July 7:
  • 13-18 prelims at Stonegate; no practice at SH for 13-18.
  • Practice for ages 6 & under and 7-8: 9:00 am - 9:45 am.
  • Practice for ages 9-10 and 11-12: 9:15 am - 10:00 am.
  • No mudskippers.
• Tuesday, July 8:
  • 8 & under prelims at Homestead; no practice at SH for 8 & under.
  • No Mudskippers.
  • All other practices at normal times.
• Wednesday, July 9
  • 9-10 prelims at Heritage Greens; no practice at SH for 9-10.
  • All other practices at normal times, including Mudskippers.
• Thursday, July 10:
  • 11-12 prelims at Homestead Farms II; no practice at SH for 11-12.
  • All other practices at normal times, including Mudskippers.
• Friday, July 11:
  • No Mudskipper practice. (You have the Mudskipper meet at 4:00 pm this day.)
  • All other practices at normal times. 
  • Mohawks and Root Beer Floats at 4:00 pm!

CALLING ALL 8 & UNDER PARENTS

Hi there! We are in need of TWO fabulous 8 and Under parents to help at the Prelims meet on Tuesday July 8th. We need a timer from 10-12 and someone to manage the team tent set up and tear down. If your kiddo is swimming at this Prelim meet, please consider taking on one of these shifts. EMAIL TARA  to claim your hero status. Thank you in advance!

END-OF-SEASON COACHES GIFTS

At the end of each season, we collect cash gifts for our coaches. We’ll distribute them at our end-of-season banquet. If you would like to contribute, you can contribute on our website. (Go to the website, log in, and choose “Online Store.” You will see the Coaches’ Gifts available there. Please note that you can select more than one denomination and more than one of any listed denomination to add up to the total amount you want to contribute.) These gifts, though totally optional, are greatly appreciated by our hard-working coaches and volunteer coaches. We will have this open on our website until 12:00 noon on Friday, July 11.
